Brief Bio:

Dr. Kallol Bagchi completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mathematics from the Calcutta University. He received his P.G. diploma and his first Ph.D. in computer science from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He earned his second Ph.D. from the Department of IT, school of business, Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Bagchi's research interest lies in human values, global information technology, security, diffusion of innovation, offshoring/outsourcing, e-government and e-business. At present he is associated with the University of Texas. Prior to this he worked as Assistant Professor at the College of Business, Louisiana Tech. He was a visiting scholar at the department of electrical engineering, Stanford University. He also served as Assistant/Associate Professor at the Computer Science Dept., Aalborg University, Denmark. Dr. Bagchi has authored/co-authored 27 peer-reviewed journals such as Communications of the ACM, Information and Management, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Communications of the AIS, International Journal of Global Information Technology, International Journal of Electronic Business, JITTA etc., He has edited/co-edited 4 books in Computer and Network area. The project title of Dr. Bagchi's Fulbright-Nehru grant is "ICT and Human Values." Dr. Bagchi's research will focus on human values and information /communication technology (ICT) area. it is important to know how and why values differ across individuals and across and within cultures (between various groups based on ethnicity, religion, region etc) and how these differences relate to significant behaviors, attitudes, emotions, policies, and experiences. Dr. Bagchi will be collecting data in India and will compare it with the data collected from the U.S. and other nations on this and other related areas. He will also be teaching a graduate course on IS etc. topics.
